Core technology achieved significant global optical progress in 2019

DATE 2022-11-12BY:AIOPTICS

On March 20, 2020, Professor Yili Lin from Shanghai Jiao Tong University selected the "Intelligent Mode-locked Laser" achievement as one of the top ten developments in China's optics in 2019.

Previously, Professor Yili Lin from Shanghai Jiao Tong University proposed an intelligent mode-locked laser based on human like algorithm (HLA), which solved the problem of passive mode-locked laser losing lock and difficult to automatically recover. The fastest startup for automatic mode-locked laser only takes 0.22 seconds, and the recovery for lost lock only takes 14.8 ms, both of which greatly broke previous records and have important industrial application value. The selected work was published in the flagship journal Optica in the field of optics, making it the highest downloaded paper of the month. Previously, the work was also selected for the 2019 Global Optics Progress "Optics in 2019" by Optics&Photonics News, a news magazine under the Optical Society of America (OSA).

In 2021, two core invention patents were transferred to AIOPTICS through the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, accurately realizing the transformation of university research achievements into industrial applications, providing strong technical support for economic and social development.
